India’s first indigenously designed and built semi-high-speed train, introduced in 2019. It operates without a separate locomotive, with engines integrated into the coaches (similar to metro trains). Built at the Integral Coach Factory in Chennai, it can reach speeds of up to 180 km/h and offers fully air-conditioned chair car service for intercity travel.
